Litto and Tony Gomez, The Final Puff Episode

The Final Puff

EP 3: Litto and Tony Gomez

Behind the Scenes: Litto and Tony Gomez

Do you know that Cinderella story where some long-lost relative hands you the keys to the kingdom?

Well…this is NOT that story.

Matter of fact, for all intents and purposes, Litto Gomez had no business going into the cigar industry.

I don’t say that with any disrespect. I just mean he did not come from a family of tobacco.

He didn’t grow up running through the tobacco fields, hiding in the drying barn, teasing his friends about the air in a fermentation area.

Nope.

Litto Gomez, alongside Ines Lorenzo-Gomez woke up one day and decided they wanted to learn all about cigars.

OK…maybe it was not that quick but the key word was ‘learn.’

Litto did not want to just copy someone else’s work. He wanted to learn about the industry and put his own unique spin on it.

In another day and industry, that just might be the most arrogant thing someone could do. For Litto, it was a methodical approach that ended in success.

It is all on camera…for you.

His son Anthony joined me for an in-depth talk while we smoked cigars on the factory floor.

I might make an apology for the background noise, but I will never have to apologize for getting these two on camera together, talking about the industry, family, and the challenges that go with that.

I have known both of them for a long time. There have been many hours filled with laughs, cigars, and maybe a few drinks*

*Pro-tip…if you are drinking in the morning, drink out of a coffee mug.

Anyway, I hope this gives you some insight into an incredible family and an amazing story that is La Flor Dominicana.

All the best,

Fred “@Godfadr” Rewey
